Radioactive Decay Project
Project Description
For the Radioactive Decay project each of the students were required to chose a radioactive isotope. After we decided on an isotope we began to study everything about it. We learned about radioactive decay and how it works on each of the isotopes that we were studying. We also gathered information on the lives and half lives of our particular isotope. We then put our half lives into an equation to make a table and then finally end with a graph of the radioactive decay.
Project Reflection
The radioactive project was very interesting and I learned a lot about something I did not even know existed. I really enjoyed learning about how smoke detectors work and the process of the isotope being used in it. I also found the radioactive decay part of it very interesting but a bit confusing.
Math Test September 24, 2013
The very first math test I took as a freshman at Animas was a big success. The test caused me stress at the beginning but very rewarding in the end. Math has always been one of my biggest struggles in school. However, getting a good start to the year has motivated me to work harder throughout the semester. I chose this test to show improvement from my past because I worked really hard to get ready for the test. I am most proud of the test because it showed me that I can maintain a solid grade in this class. It showed me that If I work hard it will not be a problem for me to pass the class with a good grade. This semester I learned a number of new skills, for example the system of inequalities. I am sure that I will use the skills I have learned this semester in the future. Learning math skills is not all I have learned. I have learned that I am forced to really listen and put time into learning math because I struggle to learn some of the concepts.
